There are several types of club users at ABYC:
Senior Members, in addition to being able to use all the club facilities, are entitled to have a boat at ABYC (docked or dry sailed, powerboat or keelboat, sailing dinghy, paddle-board, or kayak), can apply for the Co-op Sailing Program, can vote on club business, and are also entitled to run for a position on the board. A Senior membership is a family membership and includes spouse and children.
Juniors may use all the club facilities (within any legal age requirements), may apply (if 18 or over) for the Co-op Sailing Program, and may have a sailing dinghy, paddle-board, or kayak at the club. A Junior must be 29 years of age or less on January 1st; after being a Junior for 5 continuous years a Junior will have the initiation fee waived should they choose to become a senior member. A Junior cannot vote on club business, nor hold a position on the board. A Junior is an individual membership.
Associates are entitled to use the Club facilities, crew on racing boats, and are eligible to apply for the Co-op Sailing Program. Associates may have a sailing dinghy, paddle-board, or kayak at the club. An Associate cannot vote on club business, nor hold a position on the board. An Associate is an individual membership and does not include other family members, however, the spouse of an Associate can join at a reduced fee.
Membership types, names, fees and conditions may change without prior notice as a result of annual reviews and meetings held in late January or early February. Please refer to the latest Membership Fee Structure for more details.
In addition to membership types, several payment plans are available. Please call the office for complete details.
