ABYC is excited to announce that starting in 2012 we have an Enviro committee that will be dedicated to examine current practices at ABYC as compared to the best practices described in the Green Blue Toolkit guide as well as Canadian Government and Ontario legislation and law.

This important program at ABYC is dedicated to promoting clean boating and the protection of our waterways for generations to come.

The Environmental Committee has been given the mandate to:

  1. Examine current practices at ABYC as compared to the best practices described in the Green Blue Toolkit as well as to insure compliance with Canadian environmental legislation and practices.
  2. Set objectives, monitor practices and measure results impacting the environment on an on-going basis and report to the board.
  3. Report results and make recommendations to the Board of Directors one month prior to each general member’s meeting regarding the Club’s activities and their impact on the environment.
  4. Ensure standards that are established in environmental laws and regulations are publicized to members, employees and contractors
