2018 Haulout Preparation – Rail Yard
Build 3 new cradles
Tasks:
– Cut steel rod into bolt lengths and ensure the nuts work.
Location: CASA Balman using Electric Angle Grinder
– Assemble the cradles
Total time about 8 hours for each cradle
1 lead carpenter for each cradle
2 helper carpenters for each cradle
Location: in the yard near the red dock patio
Tools: Hammers, Electric Drills, Electric Angle Grinders, Electric Saws, 3/4 Socket Wrench
Repair 8 cradles
Tasks:
– Cut steel rod into bolt lengths and ensure the nuts work.
Location: CASA Balman using Electric Angle Grinder
– Disassemble the cradles and rebuild
Total time about 2 hours for each cradle
1 lead carpenter for each cradle
2 helper carpenters for each cradle
Location: in the yard near the red dock patio
Tools: Hammers, Electric Drills, Electric Angle Grinders, Electric Saws, 3/4 Socket Wrench
Move and repair 2 ways
Tasks:
– Move way 14 and repair joints in the designated location
40 people to move it; 5 minutes
4 people 2 hours to repair it
Location: in the yard near the top berm
– Move way 12 and repair joints in the designated location
The same 40 people to move it; 5 minutes
4 people 2 hours to repair it
Location: in the yard near the top berm
Tools: Hammers, Crowbars
– Install the top wood on way 1
2 people 4 hours
Tools: Hammers
Clean and prepare the tallow area
Tasks:
– Clean the area, repair the burners and install propane tanks
2 people 3 hours
