Chess tournaments were a regular feature at ABYC in the 1990’s, with the winner’s name inscribed onto the “Terry Fagan Games Night” Trophy. While the trophy has been dormant for 20 years, the increased interest in chess at the Club warrants the trophy being dusted off and awarded to the victor.
All levels of chess ability are encouraged to join in as a modified “Swiss System” playoff will be used. This system quickly sorts out players by their level of expertise. There are no “knockouts”, leaving us all to play at least 5 games.
