The Elizabeth Kimball Art Show
Sunday, April 2nd, 2023
4:00 to 7:00
Elizabeth Kimball, who passed away a few years ago, came by her sense of humour quite naturally. She spent many summers with her uncle, Stephen Leacock, the famed Ontario humourist, at his summer home in Orillia. She was a journalist, author and traveler who took up sailing, much to her family’s horror, when she was in her sixty’s. One of the first Senior Female Members of ABYC, she actively campaigned her sailboat, a Northern 25, inaptly called Tranquility, in Club racing until well into her 80’s.
Elizabeth was also a noted artist, and the Art Show is proudly named after her. There will be samples of her work and one of her many books, “The House That Stephen Built”, on display.
All ABYC Artists are welcome to display their works, paintings, quilting, woodwork, sculpting, honey, etc. The rest of us are encouraged to drop by and see some of the great work that our fellow members have prepared.
