GET YOUR BOAT READY & CALL YOUR RACING BUDS! The ABYC Annual Regatta for the LORC Racing Event Series will feature a new OPEN Regatta format this year:

New OPEN Regatta Format includes:

One-Design, IRC, PHRF, Flying Sails, & Non-Flying Sails
Track Course racing & Off-Shore Distance racing
One & Two Day separate registration for PHRF fleets
Separate Flags & Prize Ceremonies both days.

Multiple Fleets Invited, More Friendly Competition, Great Racing At All Levels!

ABYC EARLY REGISTRATION gets you multiple incentives at the 2016 ABYC OPEN Evolution Sails CHALLENGE! REGATTA. What are they? You’ll like’em, but you have to be there on Saturday after the racing to find out. Check us out and PLEASE REGISTER NOW! You can verify your registration date by taking a screen print of your LORC registration date, and show up after the race to enjoy the fantastic music, food, and fun with your racing buds. It’s ABYC’s and your own racing event launch for the summer May 28/29!

ABYC OPEN Fleet Line-Start CHALLENGE! Friday May 13^th!

The ABYC OPEN Fleet Line-Start CHALLENGE! starts with YOU! CONVINCE your Fleet Friends and Foes to get their boats out to our ABYC party this May. Race your own Fleet Levels with Five (5) boats on the line and win your own Fleet CHALLENGE! Separate Fleet line-start boats will need to register EARLY to secure their course Line-Start sequence. What’s EARLY? Don’t be afraid, it’s FRIDAY THE 13^TH! (They don’t call them DEADlines for nothing! Of course you can register before that and not give a HEX about anything.

**PHRF Track Saturday / PHRF Off-Shore Sunday**

Don’t have five boats in your fleet? Register for Saturday’s PHRF Track course racing, AND/OR Sunday’s Off-Shore medium distance race. Both are separate event races with separate flags and prize ceremonies both days. THIS INCLUDES YOU NFS White-Sailors! The 2016 ABYC OPEN Evolution Sails CHALLENGE! REGATTA is re-introducing the idea you can have a fantastic time racing doing the “Double-Sail Dance”! Come out for the friendly competition and show your club colours. That means YOU weeknight racers!

INTER-CLUB PHRF TEAM CHALLENGE!

The new PHRF RACERS ASSOCIATION (PRA) is introducing (or bringing back) the passionate but friendly spirit of racing competition between sailing clubs on Lake Ontario. The PRA is throwing the gauntlet down to all PHRF competition boats this year with the Inter-Club PHRF TEAM CHALLENGE! And it starts at ABYC May 28 & 29. You can feature the PHRF CHALLENGE! At your club too. (Check PRA website.) Side bets anyone?

PHRF CLUB TEAM CHALLENGE! FORMAT:

Each club can register as many boats as they can bring to the OPEN
Designate “3-Boat” Teams from your club with at least one boat Non-Flying Sails
Each club can enter more than one “3-Boat Team” but each team MUST be identified and team designated before the event. (Check PRA website for details.)
“Lowest Combined Score” for the club team WINS the PHRF TEAM CHALLENGE! Trophy!

**2016 ABYC OPEN Evolution Sails CHALLENGE! PARTY & BIG PRIZE DRAW!**

As the weather is guaranteed (see forecast below), the 2016 ABYC OPEN Evolution Sails CHALLENGE! REGATTA is going to be a great opening party for the summer. We have a fantastic new chef serving up ABYC’s Big and delicious Saturday Buffet after the races, with another round of great treats on Sunday.

ABYC ROCKS THE DOCK! with the great Rock & Blues of Paul James outside from 4 til 7pm, then the club party goes inside with our very own WEATHERED LEGS band at 8pm. Bring your dance shoes!

The BIG PRIZE!

ABYC is introducing a fantastic Big Prize Incentive for the OPEN this year. It’s the Evolution Sails Prize Draw! Come out to the OPEN CHALLENGE! party and enter your boat name and details in the BIG Evolution Sails $4000 Sail Prize Draw after Saturday’s racing. You must race in the event on Saturday OR Sunday. The Evolution Sail Prize will be awarded during the Flag Awards Ceremony on Saturday. You can’t win if you don’t race so REGISTER, RACE, & JOIN THE PARTY!
