2022 Club Racing

ABYC runs club racing weekly from May to September, open to all Members. Keelboats race on Tuesdays, Thursdays and some weekends (dinghies race on Wednesdays). Go to Regattas at ABYC for information about races and regattas hosted by ABYC that are open to competitors from other Clubs around the Lake.

Register for ABYC club racing and view Notices of Race and Sailing Instructions below.

Notices to Competitors and Changes to Sailing Instructions will be posted on the official notice board at racingrulesofsailing.org/events/3571 or use the QR code in Addendum B of the Events Book. Hearing requests must be made by completing the form at racingrulesofsailing.org.

  • The race course and marks remain in their location farther east (moved in 2021). We recommend leaving your dock around 5:50 pm to make the 6:30 starting sequence. Learn More

Learn How to Recognize a Concussion and What to Do

ABYC requires skippers to be responsible for concussion awareness and removal-from-sport procedures under Rowan’s Law for their crew. By registering for ABYC club racing you, as skipper, agree to accept that responsibility and to comply with these concussion management procedures. If you will not be skipper (the person in charge or PIC) on your boat for the race, you must ensure that your appointed PIC will comply with these procedures on your behalf.

Download this Concussion Recognition Tool, print and post in your boat for you and your crew.

Harbourmaster’s Hat Trophy

NEW DATE: Sunday, May 15

Not quite a cruise, and not quite a race… this trophy will be awarded to the first keelboat to enter Bluffers Park Yacht Club after departing ABYC no earlier than 1300 on Sunday, May 15. The boat must be fully rigged and must be sailed the full distance to the selected harbour and skippered by the boat owner.

As proof of your brave voyage, please take a picture at the dock in front of the clubhouse and email it to Harbourmaster Bob Wilson. The first picture wins!
