Types of Membership

There are several types of memberships at ABYC:

Senior members, in addition to being able to use all the club facilities, are entitled to have a boat at ABYC (docked or dry sailed powerboat or keelboat, sailing dinghy, paddle-board, or kayak), can vote on club business, and are also entitled to run for a position on the board. A Senior membership is a family membership and includes spouse and children.

Junior members may use all the club facilities (barring any legal age requirements) and may have a sailing dinghy, paddle-board, or kayak at the club. A junior member must be 29 years of age or less on January 1st; after being a junior member for 5 continuous years a Junior member will have the initiation fee waved should they choose to become a senior member. A junior member cannot vote on club business, nor hold a position on the board. A junior membership is an individual membership.

Associate (Crew) members are entitled to use the Club facilities, crew on racing boats, and are eligible to apply for the Co-op Sailing Program. Associates may have a sailing dinghy, paddle-board, or kayak at the club. An Associate member cannot vote on club business, nor hold a position on the board. An Associate membership is an individual membership and does not include other family members, however, the spouse of an Associate member can join at a reduced fee.
